Boat Traffic Down on State Canal System

Oswego, NY – New figures from the state Canal Corporation show that fewer people are taking their boats on the state's canal system but more companies are using the canal system for transportation.

DEC seeks deer watchers

Oswego, NY – The State Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking volunteer deer watchers in Central New York.

The DEC's Cortland Wildlife office is still experimenting with a program initiated three years ago, aimed at gathering more information on the size and composition of the deer herd.

WRVO's Jasmyn Belcher spoke with Dave Riehlman, a wildlife biologist for the DEC.
