Republican candidate for United State Senate Joe DioGuardi held a news conference outside a foreclosed home in Syracuse today, hoping to make several points in his challenge to incumbent Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

DioGuardi laid the blame for the foreclosure crisis at the feet of his opponent, along with New York Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo.

Syracuse, NY – National Grid says it needs a $400 million rate increase to maintain its profit margin, due to increasing operating costs, but the Public Power Coalition - and a number of other groups - say they will protest outside Public Service Commission (PSC) hearings today in Syracuse and speak against the proposed increase at the hearings.

The PSC has criticized National Grid's proposal, after reports found the utility included excessive charges in its calculations.

Albany, NY – The candidates for New York State Attorney General discussed a number of issues during their debate Monday, including a recent report from the state Investigator General that alleges misconduct by a number of state lawmakers in negotiating a racino contract in Queens.
