WRVO – The vast majority of school district budgets won the approval of voters Tuesday.
Only five schools saw their budgets fall.
The no vote in Jordan-Elbridge was perhaps predictable, given the turmoil and anger seen there over the removal of several school officials and the recent revelation of a special contract for a district official that led to the official's firing and the firing of the temporary superintendent.
Budgets also fell in Cortland, north Syracuse, Weedsport and Vernon-Verona-Sherill.

ALBANY, NY – Voters in over 700 school districts will have an opportunity to weigh in on school budgets Tuesday. The State School Boards Association says the average tax increase proposed is around three and a half percent, and they expect the majority of the budgets to be approved.
