DAVID GREENE, Host:

NPR's business news starts with protests on Wall Street.

(SOUNDBITE OF MUSIC)

GREENE: A growing protest movement in downtown Manhattan is entering its third week. It's been fueled by the arrests this weekend of more than 700 people who were trying to cross the Brooklyn Bridge.

(SOUNDBITE OF CHANTING)

GREENE: The movement is called Occupy Wall Street, and it's has now spread beyond Manhattan to other cities including Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles. So far, there's no clear leader of the movement, and demonstrators list a wide range of grievances, including economic inequality, executive salaries and also the power of the financial lobby in Congress.
