Cayuga Nation Gas Stations Resume Selling Tax-Free Cigarettes

By Ryan Morden

Union Springs, NY – Two Cayuga Nation convenience stores are once again selling cigarettes tax-free. For months, the stores in Union Springs and Seneca Falls were prohibited from selling cigarettes because of a court order. Appellate judges in Rochester released a 4-1 decision in favor of the Indian nation late Friday, overturning the previous decision. Within 10 minutes of the ruling, the stores resumed selling cigarettes. WRVO's Ryan Morden stopped by the Union Springs shop this past weekend.
