Heading into the last weekend before election day, Gov. Andrew Cuomo is crossing upstate New York encouraging Democrats to get out the vote. His first stop was a rally in Syracuse.
"We vote, we win," Cuomo said. "We vote when we work and we knock on doors and we make phone calls... We do it 24 hours a day and we out work the other side."
Cuomo is expected to beat Republican Rob Astorino by a large margin. He says he is worried that because there’s no competitive race at the top, it could damper turnout and impact other races -- like close congressional races and the battle for control of the state senate.
"You have a lot of races that are very, very close that could end up affecting. Congressman Maffei's race is very, very close. And turnout will decide that race. There are some Senate races that are very, very close, and these decisions are too important to leave it to chance of who happens to turn out that day," Cuomo said.
Cuomo is taking his message west today to Rochester and Niagara Falls.
