Thanks to those of you who purchased tickets for the Glimmerglass Festival trip to Cooperstown -- ticket sales are now closed.
Please join WRVO for our annual trip to the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, N.Y for a performance of "Carousel." Enjoy a day of opera on Monday, August 4 which includes coach transportation, a backstage tour and a catered lunch.
Our coach will depart Dewitt at 9 a.m. (with another stop in Utica around 9:50 a.m. for more guests). Upon arrival in Cooperstown, attendees will enjoy a backstage tour and catered lunch prepared by Black Cat of Sharon Springs. We'll also preview the Pavilion. At 1:30 p.m., the new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Carousel" will begin with full orchestra and no amplification.
"Carousel" has been called the "best musical of the 20th century" by Time Magazine. The piece tells the story of a carousel barker's struggles to rise above challenging circumstances. The musical includes such favorites as "If I Loved You," "June is Bustin' Out All Over" and "You'll Never Walk Alone."

Dewitt: Please arrive by 8:45 a.m. on August 4 for check-in and ticketing. The meet-up and parking area is in the Wegman's parking lot, 6789 E. Genesee Street in Dewitt (near Route 481). The Park-n-Ride is located in the eastern half of the parking lot. The coach will depart by 9 a.m.
Utica: We are making an additional stop in Utica between 9:45 and 9:55 a.m. at the North Utica Shopping Plaza on Auert Ave just off I-90. For reference, there is a Price Chopper and Dollar Tree in the plaza. We will depart just before 10 a.m. for Cooperstown.
10:45 a.m. - Arrive at the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, N.Y.
11:00 a.m. - Backstage tour
12:00 p.m. - Picnic in the Pavilion
12:30 p.m. - Private preview in the Pavilion
1:30 p.m. - "Carousel" begins. The show lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours
4:15 - 4:30 p.m. - Depart the Glimmerglass Festival
5:15 p.m. - Arrive in Utica for drop off
6:00 p.m. - Arrive in Dewitt for second drop off
