[SOLD OUT] Join us: a live performance of A Prairie Home Companion in December

American Public Media

Tickets to see A Prairie Home Companion live in New York City this December are sold out! Thanks to everyone who expressed interest or purchased tickets.

Join WRVO in New York City for another trip to see "A Prairie Home Companion" in a live broadcast performance this winter. Garrison Keillor, along with the Royal Academy of Radio Actors' Tim Russell (the man of a thousand voices), Sue Scott and sound effects wizard Fred Newman, bring to life show favorites Guy Noir, Private Eye, and the cowboys Dusty and Lefty. Pianist and Music Director Richard Dworsky leads the talented musical guests each week, and don't forget-- the latest News from Lake Wobegon.

Some news about APHC: In an recent interview with the Associated Press, Garrison Keillor says he plans to step down as host of "A Prairie Home Companion” after the 2015-2016 season. "I have a lot of other things that I want to do. I mean, nobody retires anymore. Writers never retire. But this is my last season. This tour this summer is the farewell tour," says Keillor.

Keillor is set to hand the mantle over to musician Chris Thile of Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers fame. According to Keillor, Thile (who is a whiz on the mandolin) will help return APHC to its roots as a music show.  Now 34, Thile was just 15 when he made his first appearance on the program.
