Le Moyne's Madden School of Business is seeing a big jump in enrollment. Incoming Dean Jim Joseph says there is a 34 percent increase in enrollment in the business school this semester.
"The last ten years, the average class size of the business school has been in the 90 plus range," Joseph said. "This year, our incoming class will be 126."
The goal is to attract 150 students next year. He says the school's global programs and experiential learning are some of the reasons that the Madden school is seeing that enrollment increase.
Joseph says one of the school's focuses is business ethics, noting that it's a topic that's getting more interest nowadays.
"There are topics that have really come to the forefront since the economic meltdown of 2008," Joseph said. "That is one of the very reasons we believe there is room in the marketplace for a Jesuit case series."
The school has also taken over the Arrupe Program in Social Business Ethics from Georgetown.
"Anytime you can say within the Jesuit world, that something has moved from Georgetown to your college, I don't know if you'd call it a coup, but we are happy about it," Joseph said.
Teaching ethics to business students will be one of three centers operating in the Business School.
