New Yorkers Urged to Donate Blood

By Jasmyn Belcher

Oswego, NY – The American Red Cross is urging New Yorkers to donate blood.

Blood donations are down all across the state. August is usually a challenging time for the blood supply because schools are out of session and people are away on summer vacation.

Red Cross officials say all blood types are needed, especially the universal type O-negative. Call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (800-448-3543) or visit donatebloodnow.org to make an appointment to donate.
