Paterson Appoints Ravitch Lieutenant Governor

Albany, NY – Governor Paterson, citing a little known clause of the state constitution, says he'll name Richard Ravtich, the former chair of the New York City MTA, as Lieutenant Governor. The Governor hopes to break the month long gridlock in the State Senate. The move set off a firestorm of reaction, and, likely, a court challenge.
