Once again this summer WRVO is partnering with organizations and area businesses to remind our listeners that upstate New York has a stunning variety of attractions of interest to people of every age. We call this partnership Summer Destinations, and we encourage you to visit as many as you can during the 2013 summer season.
Whether you are planning a day trip, overnight adventure or long-term vacation, there is a destination for you that is sure to make your trip memorable.
WRVO Summer Destinations include:
The Antique Boat Museum is a fresh water nautical museum in North America. Located in the Thousand Islands, the galleries house over 300 unique and beautifully-preserved boats and thousands of recreational boating artifacts. From May through October, the 4.5 acre campus comes alive with speed boat rides, boat shows, educational programs for all ages, special events and more.
Auburn Historical and Cultural Sites Commission is a group of organizations whose mission is to promote Auburn’s attractions through collaborative marketing, programming and tourism strategies. Take an hour or spend a few days, visiting Auburn’s historic and cultural sites and you’ll see why we are called ‘History’s Hometown.’ The vision of the Commission is to position Auburn as the destination of choice in the Finger Lakes through support and promotion of its history and culture.
Auburn Public Theater is an intimate, publicly accessible and affordable theater space in downtown Auburn, New York, that challenges and educates our community and fosters creative growth through shared performance experiences. By providing a performance space for local and visiting artists, Auburn Public Theater will make art a common experience in downtown Auburn.
The Cayuga Museum was founded in 1936 as the Cayuga Museum of History and Art. Our mission is to provide a forum for the public to realize, interact with and appreciate Cayuga County’s shared past and unfolding present to help shape a better future.
