Gun rights advocates are divided over a recent memorandum of understanding on the SAFE Act -- New York’s controversial gun law.

The memo came out late last week. It suspended the creation of a database of ammunition buyers until the technology and money are available to build it.

As New York state passes the first anniversary of the SAFE Act in New York state this week, confusion still reigns for many about the controversial gun control law. A forum this weekend in Syracuse hopes to clear up some of the questions for sportsmen and sportswomen in particular.

Reaction to New York's new gun control law from prosecutors is generally positive. For one central New York District attorney it closes some loopholes, but leaves others open.
