There's more than one election rematch in Syracuse this fall.

Democrat Al Stirpe is trying to recapture the State Assembly seat he lost to Republican Don Miller in 2010.  Miller, a staunch conservative, won an upset victory over Stirpe despite being outspent by a large margin.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is one of many New York politicians who have chosen to scale back their participation in the national Democratic convention in North Carolina. While the others are Democrats seeking re-election in Congress, Cuomo is eschewing what could have been a prime time speaking slot.

Miner on becoming co-chair of New York's Democratic Party

Becoming co-chair of the Democratic Party in New York state will allow Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner to do more of what she already does. Miner is expected to be elected co-chair of the party when members meet this week.

Cuomo puts stamp on State Democratic Party

Governor Andrew Cuomo gave a rousing speech at a meeting of the State Democratic Party, but stopped short of endorsing a democratic take over of the State Senate.

At the meeting, the new co-chairs of the party, chosen by Cuomo, were introduced.
