A hearing by state Senate Republicans on New York City’s public campaign financing system was overshadowed by protests, as government reform groups and other members of the public were denied entry, and noisy protests ensued.
While visiting Syracuse today to promote a new bill to help small businesses, US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand rebuffed the criticisms of her opponents that she has moved further to the left since taking office.
"I have the exact same values as I’ve always had, and that’s fighting for New Yorkers, fighting for small businesses, and helping get this economy back on track," said Gillibrand.
Republican Presidential primary politics comes to New York state Tuesday. It's the first of three different primary days across the state this year. Election officials worry that all these primary days will end up confusing voters.
