Scientists predict flu outbreaks with weather forecasting techniques

Experts say vaccinations are the best way to prevent the flu. But now weather data has helped scientists predict the peak timing of flu outbreaks more than seven weeks before they happened.

Someday your local weatherman may also be able predict the latest flu outbreak. That's according to a new study published this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
