Thursday was the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout, an effort begun by anti-cancer groups nearly four decades ago to help people quit smoking. This year the American Cancer Society in New York used the day to call attention to a decline in state spending on anti-smoking programs.
All program changes take effect Monday, June 18, 2012.
Throughout the year we examine the WRVO Public Media program schedule. Using Arbitron data and other audience research we evaluate programs to assess their popularity and identify weaknesses that offer opportunities to refresh the schedule. Because the WRVO Public Media audience is continually evolving we have a responsibility to bring new programs into the mix to encourage listening among those new to public radio just as we continue to present long-time favorites.
