Amended taxi cab law passed by Oswego Common Council

The Oswego Common Council has voted five to zero to amend its taxi cab law, after working on it for more than a year. The law originally barred people convicted of felonies from driving taxi cabs within Oswego city limits, but sparked a lawsuit from the Workforce Advocacy Center, a group opposing job discrimination.

D.A. Fitzpatrick supports unsealing juvenile records involving sex crimes

Juvenile records are automatically sealed in New York state, so they don't prejudice a prosecutor or judge, but state Sen. John DeFrancisco is proposing an exception. He wants those records be available to court officials if they involve sex crimes.

New York state cracks down on sex offenders

Aides to Governor Andrew Cuomo have announced new crackdowns on sex offenders that will require some convicts on parole to renew their photos every 90 days if their appearance has changed.
