For the first time in the school’s history, a woman will hold the graduate manager position for the Syracuse University Men’s Basketball Team. It’s a rarity in NCAA men’s basketball.

“It’s pretty surreal, it’s literally like a dream come true,” Kolinski said.

Kolinski was already with the team for the past five years as an undergrad, including for two Final Four appearances. But being a graduate manager is a little different.

As fans of all ages cheer on the Syracuse University men’s and women’s basketball teams in the Final Four this weekend, some are celebrating this milestone by looking back on Jim Boeheim's career. Boeheim is in his 40th year as the head coach, but started as a player on the team in the 1960’s before becoming an assistant coach.

The Syracuse University men’s and women’s basketball teams will both be playing in the Final Four this year. It’s the first time in the school’s history that both will compete in the Final Four at the same time.

Syracuse University announced Thursday that assistant men's basketball coach Mike Hopkins will succeed head coach Jim Boeheim when Boeheim retires in three years. Hopkins played at Syracuse from 1989- 1993 and has been an assistant coach on the team since 1996.

A special work group at Syracuse University has laid out several options in case the Carrier Dome is ever incapacitated.

The group has come up with a back-up plan to deal with the 275 events that happen in SU’s iconic stadium.

So what would happen to Syracuse University's most high profile sports if the Carrier Dome became inoperable for a long period of time?

  The Syracuse University Men's Basketball Team is off to a good start this season, in its first season in the ACC.  The team is 9-0 and ranked 4th in the nation after defeating Binghamton University on Saturday.  On this week's edition of the Campbell Conversations, Grant Reeher talks with Mike Hopkins, SU associate head coach.  Hopkins discusses how athletics and academics mix in big-time college sports, the recipes for success as a player and a coach, and how some aspects of the system might be improved.
