NPR News is providing live coverage of all three Presidential debates and one Vice Presidential debate this fall. Special coverage begins at 9 p.m. each night on WRVO, without any interruption. Following the debate, NPR's Robert Siegel and reporters will provide analysis and fact-checking.
Here's a breakdown of when you can hear each debate and other details:
First Presidential Debate
Monday, September 26 | 9-11 p.m.
Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York | Moderator: NBC's Lester Holt
This debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by Holt. Each candidate will have two minutes to answer each question asked by the moderator. Candidates will then have an additional two minutes to respond to each other. The remainder of each segment will be used for more in-depth discussion.
Vice Presidential Debate
Tuesday, October 4 | 9-11 p.m.
Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia | Moderator: CBS' Elaine Quijano
This debate will be divided into nine segments of approximately 10 minutes each. Each candidate will have two minutes to respond to each question. The remaining time will be used for deeper discussion of the segment topic.
Second Presidential Debate
Sunday, October 9 | 9-11 p.m.
Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri | Moderators: ABC's Martha Raddatz & CNN's Anderson Cooper
This town meeting-style debate will result in half of the questions being posed by citizen participants, half based on topics of broad public interest. The candidates will have two minutes each to respond to questions, followed by an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate further discussion. [Note: The town meeting participants will be uncommitted voters selected by the Gallup Organization.]
Third Presidential Debate
Wednesday, October 19 | 9-11 p.m.
University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada | Moderator: Fox's Chris Wallace
This debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by Wallace. Each candidate will have two minutes to answer each question asked by the moderator. Candidates will then have an additional two minutes to respond to each other. The remainder of each segment will be used for more in-depth discussion.
