10:04 p.m. update:
The National Weather Service says three people died from the storms in Madison County.
Family members confirm to WRVO News that three people were killed in Peterboro when the homes they were in on Goff Road collapsed after being pounded by thunderstorms.
The deceased include a mother and her four-month-old daughter who were in a single family home. Another woman, approximately 70 years old, according to family members, was in a mobile home that was also destroyed. In all, four homes collapsed.

A line of severe thunderstorms moved through central and northern New York Tuesday evening, leaving thousands without power and causing significant damage.
The storms began around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and intensified as they moved closer to central New York. Tornado warnings were issued for parts of Cayuga, Onondaga and Madison counties, and later for parts of Madison and Oneida counties. The National Weather Service has not confirmed that any tornadoes touched the ground, but significant damage can be seen around the region.
National Grid says they have crews spread out through western and central New York to work on restoring power, and reports that earlier this evening 63,000 customers lost power in the region from the storms.

There are multiple trees down per block, according to WRVO's Ryan Delaney, reporting from East Syracuse. "Every corner you turn, there are trees down. Residents are sitting outside talking and checking on each other. Some village crews are cleaning up. Other people with chainsaws are cutting limbs," he said.
Damage is spread throughout central New York. Trees and power lines are down, homes and businesses are damaged. Multiple reports indicate the Midway Drive-In in Minetto was badly damaged in the storm.
