Standoff Between Police Chief and State Troopers

By Elizabeth Christensen

Canastota, NY – The standoff continues between a Mohawk Valley police chief and state troopers.

39 year old Guy Blasier barricaded himself inside his house yesterday after a dispute with his wife.

His wife called police claiming Blasier had physically assaulted her.

Blasier is the chief of police in Canastota.

Authorities say Blasier is holding no hostages. He is alone in his home along the south shore of Oneida Lake.

They will not discuss the details of the domestic incident.
